Losing It!

Is it too late to wish you a Happy New Year?  I still feel like it's new.  Just two days ago, I almost wrote 2013 on something that I was signing.
I'm still doing the things that people do post-holiday season: cleaning and organizing my house; rearranging furniture; exchanging gifts that were the wrong size; working through my resolutions.
Yes, on day 25 of January I am still plugging ahead with my resolutions.  I think this may be a personal record.  My resolutions?  To be healthier and more grateful.  Notice I didn't say thinner but healthier.  Not to say that I have health issues that plague me.  Quite the contrary, I usually feeling very well.  I have no major medical conditions at all.  I've just eaten a lot of groceries in the last ten or so years and I seem to carry them around with me.  At 44 years old, this is my year to lose the excess once and for all while I am still healthy.
As I journey towards being un-regretful, I must also not create regrets along the way.  I must do what I can to not look back in another ten years and say "if only".
So I have made a three-fold plan for success: logging calorie intake; exercise daily; an in depth Bible study to drill down to the root of the matter.  I can report to you that I have logged every morsel of food for 25 days straight!  What an eye-opening exercise when you realize what you think is a "portion" is actually three.  Yikes!
As for the exercise, I am still working on that.  But I hope that in another week, I will have a game plan figured out for that as well.
The Bible study that I am doing is through the amazing ladies of P31.org.  They are leading over 40,000 people from all over the globe to study the "Made to Crave" book written by Lisa TerKeust.  We are beginning our second week tomorrow and if it is as powerful as week one, holy cow!!!
I'll share about the second resolution, gratefulness, another time.  Meanwhile, enjoy today as the gift that is.  Be kind to those you meet.
Blessings from Him,
T
